Black cedar
We are using a black stained cedar for the siding at one of our renovation projects in South Calgary. The client’s willingness to try something new will have a very dramatic impact on the exterior elevations. The black cedar, aluminum clad windows, and metal roof have made for a great looking house that does not over power the street scape.

Orange
We are putting the finishing touches on one of our infill projects on the north side, and we think the orange island will be a big hit! With the rest of the house showing restraint, it allowed for a punch of colour. All the interior doors have been sprayed to match as well.
Moe (rectangle’s fearless construction manager) deciding whether he likes the orange or not.

skinny stairs
We really wanted to do something clever with the stairs at our N.E. infill. the solid maple treads are supported by equaly spaced aluminum tubes. the tubes also work as the guard rail to the lower stair case. We feel the slender lines help the narrow infill feel more open and adds some interest.
Dylan having way too much fun at work!

back splash
A full wall of tile can have a great look and really soften the hard lines of a contemporary space. Without upper cabinets, the kitchen exhaust fan will be centered between the windows, making for a clean and simple work area. Joe from Modern Elegance knows how to make the tiles look just right!

Cabinetry
Cabinetry is where a big portion of the project budget goes, so It has to look right. Our Confederation Park project is getting close to the finish line and the cabinetry is looking great. Mixing a couple of different materials can add some interest and give millwork a European look.
